Police in Rubanda District are holding two suspects in connection to the alleged killing of a 50-year-old man. The suspects, identified as Jackline Twinamasiko (28) and Robinah Kemigyisha (38), who was the deceased’s lover, are both residents of Rwakamu village, Kaara Parish, Muko Sub County.

 

The deceased, Nicholas Tumuheise alias Kubirabe, was found dead on Friday morning along a path leading to his home, with blood oozing from his ears, nose, and mouth. He had last been seen on Thursday night at Keneema Feredius’s bar, drinking chief waragi in the company of the suspects.

Medard Kemerwa, the defense secretary of Katete village, stated that locals became suspicious when the suspects went into hiding. They alerted the police while conducting a search for the suspects, who were eventually apprehended on Friday afternoon.

Elly Maate, the police spokesperson for the Kigezi region, confirmed that the suspects were taken to Rubanda Police Station to prevent them from being lynched by locals. He added that investigations into the matter are ongoing. 

 

The case is registered at Rubanda Police Station under file number CRB 388/2024.
