Tottenham have been drawn Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup after a 2-1 win over Manchester City.
The fixture headlines the action between the last eight teams with the other ties seeing Arsenal entertain Crystal Palace, Newcastle play host to Brentford and Liverpool travel to Southampton.

Spurs were the biggest story from the evening as they knocked out regular Premier League winners City 2-1 as Pep Guardiola‘s side failed to come back from early Timo Werner and Pape Matar Sarr goals.
Their quarter-final opponents, Manchester United, also saw victory in their first game since Erik ten Hag’s firing as interim Ruud van Nistelrooy recorded a 5-2 win.
However, Van Nistelrooy likely won’t be in place for the December meeting as talkSPORT understands that Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim has verbally agreed to join the club.
Having knocked out arguably the best team in Europe, Spurs have already gone further in the domestic cups than they did in the past two seasons.
Manager Ange Postecoglou received criticism last season for falling at the first hurdle in the Carabao Cup while the north London side exited the FA Cup in just the fourth round.
The Australian coach said it’s a ‘fact’ that he always wins a trophy in his second season, and after knocking out City to reach the quarter finals, Spurs fans may have renewed hope of a first title since 2008.
Elsewhere on the night, holders Liverpool defeated Brighton 3-2, Chelsea lost 2-0 to Newcastle and Arsenal breezed past Championship outfit Preston 3-0.
There was an upset of sorts as Crystal Palace also overcame high-flyers Aston Villa 2-1 away at Villa Park.
However, that match and Spurs’ clash also saw some bad news for the victors, with two key players picking up worrying injuries.
Spurs’ Micky van de Ven and Palace’s Eberechi Eze both had to be substituted off and now the London sides will be sweating on their fitness.
