Volkswagen debuted its third-generation Tiguan in November 2024. Sharply restyled and graced with a bit more of everything, the Tiguan is poised to continue reigning as VW’s best-selling vehicle in the US—as long as pricing doesn’t go insane. On that front, we have good news.
The 2025 Tiguan starts at $30,920 in front-wheel drive S trim, including VW’s $1,425 destination charge. Yes, it’s more expensive than last year but the increase is a surprisingly modest $615. For that you get a slightly larger SUV with more horsepower, more tech, larger screens, and more safety with four extra airbags, bringing the total to 10. Adding 4Motion all-wheel drive bumps the Tiguan S to $32,420.

Moving further up the line, the 2025 Tiguan SE R-Line Black starts at $36,880—$815 more than last year. It wears all the sport R-Line exterior bits, rides on 20-inch wheels, and has a plethora of standard gear including VW’s panoramic sunroof. Slotting between S and the SE R-Line is the Tiguan SE, starting at $34,420. It essentially replaces the Wolfsburg Edition, while at the top of the spectrum is the Tiguan SEL R-Line. For $41,180 you get standard AWD, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon stereo, the upgraded 15.0-inch center touchscreen, and a host of luxury bits.

All 2025 Tiguans ride on VW’s MQB Evo platform and have a revised 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood. It makes 201 horsepower (up from 184 hp) that goes through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Towing capacity is increased to 1,800 pounds for AWD models, a digital cockpit with a 12.9-inch center screen is standard, and VW plugs in its IQ.Drive suite of driver assists for all trims.
The 2025 Tiguan will reach dealerships later this year.
