Terry Bradshaw apologizes to Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid over brutal Super Bowl fat joke

EntertainmentSportsTerry Bradshaw apologizes to Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid over brutal Super Bowl fat joke

Terry Bradshaw has issued a public apology to Andy Reid.

The long-serving Fox Sports host aimed a cruel joke at the Kansas City Chiefs head coach following their Super Bowl victory in 2023.

Bradshaw will present the Vince Lombardi Trophy again this year

Reid’s Chiefs had just beaten the Philadelphia Eagles, who they will face again in this year’s finale, 38-35 to secure a second Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Bradshaw was presenting the trophy on behalf of Fox.

“Big guy… let me get the big guy in here. Come on, waddle over here,” he said to Reid live on air.

“Have a cheeseburger on us,” he later added.

Bradshaw will once again present the trophy to the winner on February 10.

And he revealed that he immediately said sorry to Reid in a chat with People on Friday.

“Oh. Oh, I am the worst there is,” he remarked. “So the very next day I called Andy and said, ‘Wow, I am so sorry. I had no idea I’d create such a storm.’

“He was laughing. But that’s how it is. Fans are very protective of their football team.

“I’m an outsider, so therefore I don’t have a right to say that, and I get it. I won’t make that mistake this time.”

Bradshaw won four Super Bowls as Pittsburgh Steelers‘ quarterback and has become a household name from working as a broadcaster over three decades.

He is no stranger to a trophy presentation gaffe and endured an awkward exchange with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie after he won the NFC Championship.

After going 14-3 in the regular season, Philadelphia has looked like a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs, beating the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams and Commanders.

“How unexpected is this?” Bradshaw asked Lurie on the podium as Eagles legend Nick Foles gave him the trophy.

“Well, it’s kind of expected, I think,” a confused Lurie replied.

Fans took to social media to defend their team.

“Bradshaw saying unexpected? Pretty sure most folks had the Eagles in at least the NFC Championship game,” a fan wrote on X.

Terry Bradshaw is insufferable. Picked all 3 teams we played in the post to beat us, and then asked the owner ‘How unexpected was this’ – go back to Pittsburgh. You only won rings because of your defense,” another added.

A third posted: “So how unexpected is it that your second-seeded, 14-3 team made the Super Bowl?”

The Eagles went into all three postseason games so far as the favorite but are slight underdogs this time.

Reid’s Chiefs are ahead by a narrow 1.5-point margin in the predictions for what could be another classic showdown.

In a run stretching back to 1994, 18 of the last 19 QBs to lose their Super Bowl debut never made it back for another attempt.

But Jalen Hurts snapped that streak and will now look for revenge in New Orleans.
