Bet of the day

Manchester United to beat Ipswich @ 3/5

Manchester United begin a new era as Ruben Amorim takes charge of the Red Devils for the first time when they visit Ipswich in the second Premier League game on Sunday (16:30).

The good news for the Portuguese manager is that his new team had begun to turn in some better performances under interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy than had often been the case under Eric ten Hag and he has an ideal opportunity to start his reign with a win.

United began the weekend in an unfamiliar 13th place in the table and have won only one of their first five league away games, but they showed enough in winning three of their last four home matches to suggest a corner had been turned.

Ipswich’s stunning 2-1 victory at Tottenham before the international break was their first success in 11 league games and they have yet to register a league victory at Portman Road since securing their second successive promotion.

Longshot of the Day

Leeds to win to nil vs Swansea @ 19/10

Leeds will be determined to force their way into the automatic promotion positions this season after finishing third and missing out in the play-offs last year, and they can boost their chances with an away win at Swansea (15:00).

The home side have won just two of their last nine games and failed to score in six of their last eight matches. All seven of the Welsh club’s losses this season have come through 1-0 scorelines and Leeds are capable of winning with a clean sheet too.

The Whites have won eight of their last 13 games and comfortably triumphed in both of the teams’ meetings last season, which includes a 4-0 victory at Swansea in February.

Special of the Day

St Pauli to beat Borussia Monchengladbach @ 31/10

St Pauli have performed with credit against some of the Bundesliga’s top teams in recent weeks and look capable of claiming a big-priced victory when they visit Borussia Monchengladbach (16:30).

The Hamburg-based club lost only 1-0 at home to unbeaten leaders Bayern Munich before the international break and went close to becoming the first team to claim a league point at Borussia Dortmund this season in a 2-1 defeat last month.

They have drawn with Wolfsburg and won 2-0 at Hoffenheim in their last two games against teams from the bottom half of the table and inconsistent Monchengladbach look worth taking on as odds-on favourites.

The home side have lost four of their first 10 league games, including home defeats by Bayer Leverkusen and Stuttgart, and have conceded nine goals in five home league matches.
