The Europa League offered a sanctuary for struggling Spurs on Thursday night, but a 3-0 win over Elfsborg is hardly world-beating form.

Away from Europe, Tottenham have won only two of their last 10 games and one of those was an extra-time FA Cup success over non-league Tamworth.

Ange Postecoglou’s men are without a win in eight Premier League matches and a trip to west London to face Brentford doesn’t look like the place where Spurs will snap that winless run.

The Bees have lost only three of their 12 home top-flight games, no side has scored more on their own patch than the 27 goals Thomas Frank’s men have hit and Brentford are an efficient, structured and talented team.

Special of the Day – Over 2.5 goals in Arsenal v Manchester City @ 7/10

Manchester City and Arsenal continue their pursuit of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table and defeat for either side would be a big blow to their title hopes.

City weren’t completely convincing defensively in their 3-1 victory over Chelsea last weekend, but Pep Guardiola’s men appear to have regained their swagger going forward and that could spell trouble for Arsenal.

The Citizens got the better of Club Brugge 3-1 in the Champions League in midweek and that means there have been a total of 37 goals scored in City’s last seven games.

The Gunners downed Girona 2-1 on Wednesday night and that’s now four of Arsenal’s last five matches which have gone over 2.5 goals.

Mikel Arteta’s men aren’t ruthless in front of goal, but they are creating plenty of chances and the north Londoners retain a potent threat from set-plays, so everything points to an entertaining Emirates clash on Sunday.

Longshot of the Day – Crystal Palace to beat Manchester United @ 13/5

It’s four wins in five games for Manchester United and it hasn’t taken long for the positivity to build. However, United’s win on Thursday night came against a poor FCSB side.

The Red Devils registered only one shot on target when winning 1-0 at Fulham, they were fortunate to beat Rangers in the Europa League and Ruben Amorim’s men needed two stoppage time goals to down Premier League strugglers Southampton at the start of their run of improved results.

United’s results have certainly improved, but performances still look to have a way to go and Crystal Palace capable of upsetting the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

The Eagles have lost only one of their last seven games and there have been good wins over Tottenham, Aston Villa, West Ham and Brighton for Oliver Glasner’s men already this term.
