Bet of the day

Chelsea to beat Brighton – 23/20

Chelsea have beaten Brighton in the last four meetings and are fancied to repeat the trick against an Albion side that shipped seven goals against Nottingham Forest last time out.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side are badly hit by injuries at the moment but their ultra-attacking approach against the Tricky Trees went spectacularly wrong as they were far too porous at the back.

They have won just one of their last 11 home meetings with Chelsea and the away team’s strength in depth means that they can rotate heavily for this game and still put out a very solid XI.

The Blues have won nine of their 11 cup games this season and it is not hard to see them extending that run against a team who have failed to win 10 of their last 13 matches in all competitions.

Side with the visitors to round off the day’s FA Cup action by progressing to the fifth round with a win.

Special of the day

Bet Boost – Newcastle to beat Birmingham, both teams to score and over 2.5 Birmingham cards – 9/2

Newcastle picked up a huge 2-0 win over Arsenal in the EFL Cup semi-finals on Wednesday, moving into the final, but they have a tight turnaround for this FA Cup clash against Birmingham.

They are likely to rotate heavily and they made heavy weather of getting past Bromley 3-1 in the third round, coming from behind to get the victory.

However, the Magpies have lost just one of their last 15 meetings between these two teams and there are two divisions between the Premier League and League One outfits.

Both teams are fancied to play their part in what should be an enthralling affair, although the away team’s quality may see them edge it.

Newcastle have been one of the most fouled teams in the Premier League this season as their pace and physicality makes them a nightmare to play against.

In their last five games, the Magpies’ opponents have picked up 16 cards and over 2.5 cards for the hosts looks a solid pick.

Long shot of the day

Richard Kone to score first vs Preston – 11/2

Richard Kone has been one of the stories of the EFL this season, rising rapidly from non-league to being top scorer in League One with 16 goals for Wycombe.

Championship side Preston are hardly a prolific side so the first goalscorer market looks wide open and it could be the Wanderers attacker who breaks the deadlock, after his club resisted a number of bids from Luton for the forward in January.
