Scottie Scheffler poised to follow Tiger Woods’ lead with unlikely slice of Masters history

OpenScottie Scheffler poised to follow Tiger Woods’ lead with unlikely slice of Masters history

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

That seems to be the motto of the number one ranked golf player in the world.

Scheffler has had a historic year, firmly planting his title as the best golf player in the worldGetty

Scottie Scheffler was on GOLF’s “Subpar” podcast and hinted at what he may be serving up at his second Masters‘ Champions Dinner in three years come April.

For those in attendance at his last dinner in 2023, they should be familiar with the menu.

“I’m wondering if I should just have the exact same menu,” Scheffler said.

“It was pretty good; it’s all my favorite foods. I don’t know really what I could do differently. I think it would be kind of fun just to have the exact same food.”

The exact same food would be cheeseburger sliders served ‘Scottie Style,’ firecracker shrimp, tortilla soup, Texas ribeye steak or blackened redfish, and a warm chocolate chip skillet cookie and ice cream.

Exquisite dining.

If Scheffler were to repeat the same exact menu, he would be following in the footsteps of only one other person who has repeated their menu.

Footsteps that just so happen to belong to the greatest golfer in the modern era and arguably of all time.

Tiger Woods.

The man responsible for winning the Masters five times.

Woods double-dipped from his 2002 menu and served the same dinner in 2003, which consisted of porterhouse steak, chicken and sushi.

Scheffler and his ‘Scottie Style’ cheeseburgers would be in rarified air if he were to repeat the menu.

It would be fitting if Scheffler found himself doing something that only Woods has ever done, seeing the absolute tear that Scheffler has been.

His game and complete dominance has been reminiscent of a prime Woods.

Scheffler won the 2022 Masters, his first major victory, and followed that up winning it again this year, having won the illustrious tournament twice in three years.

He also became the first player to successfully defend his PLAYERS Championship title, winning a total of seven PGA TOUR titles, including four Signature Events.

Not too shabby.

Throw in an Olympic gold medal from Paris and winning the FedExCup for the first time, you have all the makings of the best player in the world.

And right now, it isn’t close.

Scheffler is playing the best golf of his career at the moment and will look to keep the momentum going into next year.

And for those who will be in attendance for the Champions Dinner, ‘Scottie Style’ cheeseburgers are back on the menu.
