Who will go number one in the NFL Draft?

The Tennessee Titans will have their choice, if they choose to keep the pick, with a slew of talented, game-changing players at the top.

The two-way phenom that is Travis Hunter is more than worthy to go first overall.

Hunter’s teammate, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, could also hear his name called early, along with Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

After all, the Titans desperately need answers at quarterback.

Sanders or Ward would provide clarity.

However, there is one player who sits atop the draft boards that may just be head and shoulders above the rest.

Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter.

The freak athlete out of Happy Valley saw his stock go to the moon last season, as he dominated on the defensive side of the ball.

He spoke to the media at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis on Wednesday afternoon, and shared what his goals were.

When asked how important it would be to Carter if he were to go number one, he didn’t mince his words.

“It’s very important for me,” Carter said.

“That’s one of the goals I made before the season, something I’ve always talked about, it’s what I’ve worked for.

“I feel like I’m close to that, just got to keep working, keep putting the effort in and I’m going to accomplish my dream.”

When asked how realistic it would be for his name to be the first one out of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s mouth on draft night, Carter didn’t hesitate.

“I feel like it is very realistic.

“I feel like I’m the best player in the country and the best player should be selected number one.”

There have been 16 defensive players taken with the first pick in the draft since the modern era began in 1970.

Carter would be the 17th.

Scouts have already likened his game to some of the league’s best pass rushers.

“Since 2015, Myles [Garrett] is the only pass rusher I have graded higher than Carter,” an anonymous scout said.

“He’s the best talent in this draft.”

Carter finished his last season at Penn State with 12 sacks and 24 tackles for loss.

There was another guy from Penn State that wore #11 before Carter, who got after the quarterback pretty good.

Just ask the Dallas Cowboys if they’re happy with the guy they drafted in the first round of the 2021 draft.

Micah Parsons turned out to be okay.

The Titans could soon have their own Parsons, or Garrett, if they take Carter with the first pick.

All the hype and buzz has been on Hunter, Sanders and Ward, but it may just be Carter who goes number one.
