New Porsche 911 ‘Spirit 70’ Revives the Iconic ‘Pasha’ Seats

Science and TechnologyAutoNew Porsche 911 'Spirit 70' Revives the Iconic 'Pasha' Seats

Porsche collectors have a new special edition 911 to lust after. On Wednesday, the company revealed a new heritage-inspired trim called the 911 Spirit 70, intended to echo the company’s design philosophy of the Seventies. Based on the Carrera GTS Cabriolet, it gets a unique paint, a funky livery, and some incredibly cool Pasha patterning throughout the cabin.

The Spirit 70 is the third in a series of heritage-themed, special-edition 911s released by Porsche, following the Targa 4S Heritage Design and the Sport Classic. The color, designed specifically for this car, is called Olive Neo. It’s paired with center-locking, gold-grey-painted wheels lifted from the Sport Classic, measuring 20 inches up front and 21 inches in the rear.

On top of the paint are a trio of stripes that run the length of the hood, culminating at the bumper with the characters “911,” similar to decals used in the 1970s, according to Porsche. Look closer, and you’ll find a unique version of the Porsche crest on the nose, designed to reflect the one used by the brand in 1963. On each door, there’s Porsche lettering and door numbers. If you’d rather not have the stickers, they can be optioned away from the factory.

The real fun can be found inside the 911 Spirit 70. The seat centers and a smattering of other interior parts have been covered in Pasha, a funky pattern first used by Porsche in the Seventies, meant to evoke the visuals of a checkered flag flying in the wind. Made from a combination of textile and flock yarn, this Pasha pattern is finished in black and Olive Neo to match the exterior. Buyers can also optionally cover the seat backrests and dashboard trim in the material. We don’t see why you wouldn’t.

Under the skin of the 911 Spirit 70 is the Carrera GTS’s brand-new T-Hybrid powertrain. That means a turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six paired to an electric motor, making a combined 532 horsepower and 449 pound-feet of torque. Power gets to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. We called it a “hybrid without compromise” in our review.

The 911 Spirit 70 will be limited to just 1,500 units worldwide, with deliveries in the US starting in later summer 2025. Starting MSRP is a staggering $242,250, including destination. For some context, that’s $17,000 more expensive than the GT3. Despite the eye-watering price, we don’t suspect Porsche will have a problem selling every single one.
