Jake Paul insists Mike Tyson isn’t the biggest puncher he has ever faced.
‘The Problem Child’ beat Tyson via unanimous decision in November live on Netflix in a low-output fight.
Over the course of eight two-minute rounds, Paul landed 78 blows on Tyson while the former undisputed heavyweight champion looked every one of his 58 years as he laboured to the final bell having only found a home for 18 punches.
There was always a feeling that the fight would turn out that way given the staggering 31-year age gap between the pair and yet the stream peaked at 65 million households.
The lucrative event also broke the record for the highest-grossing gate outside of Las Vegas, with over $18million generated from 72,300 ticket sales at the packed-out AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
In his prime, Tyson was considered to be one of the most concussive punchers in boxing history and finished 44 of his 50 wins inside the distance.
But against Paul, he struggled to give the YouTuber a taste of his legendary power- a fact Paul acknowledges when naming the hardest hitter he has ever faced.
“I would say Tommy Fury [hit hardest] because it’s the shots you don’t see,” he said on his podcast, BS w/ Jake Paul.
“Tommy was more tricky with that, but Mike’s punches I could see coming.
“He was strong, but he didn’t land anything clean. So I honestly didn’t feel Mike Tyson‘s full power, but that’s good. You don’t want to.
“I was just moving, staying elusive and the only thing he was kind of landing was that hook but I just kept my hand up.”
To date, Fury is the only boxer to have beaten Paul during his 12-fight (11-1) pro career.
Paul fell to a split decision loss at the hands of Fury in February 2023 in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
They were expected to rematch immediately after, however the bout never came to fruition.
Paul claims Fury turned down $8m to fight him on Netflix, leading to the Tyson bout being made.
But Fury has since come out publically and called for a second encounter with his fierce rival.
“Right, so I’ve just woke up and seen Logan Paul talk on his podcast yet again about how I don’t wanna fight Jake and that I’m running scared,” Fury said in an Instagram video earlier this month.
“I’ve seen Jake tweet the other day about how he offered me X, Y and Z [to fight] on Netflix.
“I just wanted to come on here and say that no one’s running from that fight.
“I beat you once already, I handed you your first loss. The minute you stepped up and fought a real boxer, you lost fair and square.
“I can give you a second loss, that’s not a problem, but let’s talk some serious numbers down the phone.
“If you want to get in touch, you know where I am. It’s as easy as that. I can come back after a year and beat the pair of you [Jake and brother Logan].”
Paul was quick to respond, posting on X: “What [an] absolute muppet. Buddy, you just pulled out of a fight for the 3rd time. You have ZERO credibility.
“I offered you $8M dollars and you ran away from it. And now you got dumped by Molly […] and still can’t call a shot without your dad. GTFOH [get the f*** out of here].”
