Jalen Hurts is not your typical quarterback.
The 6ft 1in signal-caller tips the scales at 223 pounds – a frame he puts to good use with the infamous ‘Tush Push‘.
Hurts is a dual-threat nightmare for defenses[/caption]
His Philadelphia Eagles coaches love to dial up a QB sneak in short-yardage situations and let their O-line and backfield heave Hurts over the gain line.
Size also comes as an advantage when mixing it in the trenches with man mountains on the opposing defense.
During Sunday’s wild-card round win over the Green Bay Packers, three D-linemen combined to send Eagles running back Saquon Barkley flying to the turf after the play had been blown dead.
The officials flagged it straight away, but Hurts wasn’t going to leave it to the referees to defend his teammate.
He was first on the scene – something quarterbacks are usually told to avoid for fear of injury – and immediately got in the face of 330-pound tackle T.J. Slaton.
Eagles fans were delighted to see Hurts standing up for his teammate in the City of Brotherly Love.
“Bet he could take him,” said one.
“Look at my qb man,” added a second.
“Jalen getting right up in there. Much respect,” wrote a third.
“Jalen just might be that guy! One way or another he just might be that guy! He might get it done. Good on him for sticking up for his peeps,” a fourth excitedly typed.

You can measure the esteem with which a QB is held by how his O-line treat him.
And the Eagles’ big men did their job as well, rushing straight in to protect their stars in the skill positions.
“It is nice to see when players have each others backs! Then the Oline came to protect their QB,” noted one fan.
“Bulletin board material right here. They are their brothers’ keepers. This is BROTHERHOOD at its finest,” added another.
The Eagles defense picked off Packers QB Jordan Love three times in a 22-10 win that set up a clash against the winner of the Minnesota Vikings‘ showdown with the Los Angeles Rams.
Hurts completed 13 or 21 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns, with Barkley rushing for 119 off 25 carries.
Star wideout A.J. Brown had a quiet game with just one catch for 10 yards.
The cameras captured an unusual moment involving the wideout during the third quarter.
He was seen reading the book, ‘Inner Excellence‘ on the bench while his defense was on the field.
“It gives me a sense of peace,” Brown said. “That’s a book I bring every single game. My teammates call it The Recipe.
“That’s the first time I heard that y’all got me on camera. It got a lot of points in there, a lot of mental parts about it. For me, this game is mental.
“I can do anything and everything, now I got to make sure I’m mentally good. It’s something how I refresh every drive, regardless if I score a touchdown or drop a pass. I always go back to that book every drive and just refocus.”
