Logan Paul names ‘standout’ WWE star linked to The Rock that he’s desperate to wrestle

Logan Paul continues to make bold predictions for his return to wrestling as he set his sights on one of his WWE rivals for a future feud.

The YouTuber-turned boxer and wrestler is on an extended break of sorts from the grappling ring following the birth of his first child.

He hasn’t featured on WWE programming since August, when his lengthy United States Championship reign came to an end.

The Maverick had been the longest reigning champion in all of WWE at the point of his showdown with LA Knight, but left his hometown of Ohio without his coveted gold.

While taking time away from the industry, he’s continued to remain an admirer of what his colleagues are doing in his absence – clearly itching to get back at it.

It looks like 2025 is the year of Logan Paul, too – at least according to the man himself, who boldly predicted the turning of a new year would usher in a new phase of his career.

On his Impaulsive podcast he’d previously said: “…I did look in the mirror and looked at my craft and thought: ‘I think I can do this if I can actually devote my time to it.’

“So I did have the conversation with Triple H, I said: ‘Hey, I want to be the guy, what do I have to do to be the guy?’

“I’m going to start making that run next year in 2025. Wrestling is by far the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to do, there are so many skills involved…”

Given Paul’s return to the squared circle appears inevitable, plans will soon be made as to how he’ll re-enter the fray, and which WWE stars he’ll work with in ongoing storylines and matches.

In a new podcast episode, the 29-year-old singled out one star who ‘stands out’ as a future opponent thanks to his dominant start to life in the company.

Jacob Fatu is a member of the legendary Anoaʻi wrestling dynasty, whose notable members over different generations include legends Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Yokozuna and Roman Reigns among a litany of others.

He is the son of former WWE tag team star Sam Fatu, who appeared at WrestleMania 4 in a tag team bout against The British Bulldogs, while his uncle is WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi.

A physically dominant performer with a hard-hitting style, Fatu is tipped for big things in the business by many after being drafted in as part of The Bloodline – including Paul, who says a future collision between them is ‘inevitable.’

Saying Fatu was a ‘clear rising star’, Paul said: “He’s one of the only guys who really stands out to me, and I think everyone else sees it. While I recognise his greatness, part of me also thinks, he’s on my list.

“I will be wrestling him in the near future and we’re going to be going at it, so I sort of see him as competition.

“I promise you, we’re going to go f****** crazy. Crazy. I don’t know when it’s going to happen, but it’s inevitable.”

Paul went on to quip that, to star against Fatu, he’d have to ‘turn face’ – the wrestling phrase for changing from an on-screen villainous ‘heel’ character to a more fan-friendly persona.

It comes after he’d memorably left Hulk Hogan’s vision for a ‘face’ Logan Paul in tatters by shutting down the 1980s legend’s storyline pitch.
