KSI was laughing in hysterics as his younger brother Deji secured an odd knockout of Dawood Savage on Thursday night in Doha.
Deji was taking on Savage as a huge favourite in a catchweight exhibition fight on Misfits’ Qatar Super Card.
However, it was the underdog Savage who got the better of Deji in the second round, after largely running away from the Brit early on.
Deji’s brother and co-owner of Misfits KSI was in shock at what was going on in front of him and reiterated what all fans were thinking.
“My mum looks concerned because Deji isn’t landing anything. I think he’s landed one punch,” he said.
“I think they’re in shock right now. I think they expected more from Deji and he’s just not giving it.”
Deji did certainly give it as we entered round three and the 23-year-old landed a clean left hand on the Dubai native, which sent him crumbling to the canvas.
Bizarrely, it wasn’t ruled as knockdown.
Savage then got up and seemed to fall straight back to the floor as if to say he was giving up, before the referee stopped the bout.
For the KO itself, Deji did not land a punch, and after his victory he admitted he wasn’t best pleased with his performance.
“I’ll be honest, I’m disappointed with my performance. I know my levels and I should have taken him out in the first round,” he told DAZN.
“I’ve got no excuses and I’m very disappointed.
“I want to show my levels and people what I can actually do and I feel like that performance wasn’t really me.
“I feel like if I had an opponent who was actually fighting me I would’ve thrown more [punches].
“Shout out Dawood, you’re a legend. I have so much respect for you. Three fighters pulled out, but you didn’t.”
Combat sports Journalist and Misfits commentator Ben Davis said it was the “weirdest, singular KO” he’s ever seen.
“I truly do not know how to describe what happened,” he said.
Elsewhere on the card, Jarvis retained his middleweight title against Ben Williams, after the latter injured his ankle and the fight was called off.
London’s Warren ‘The Mechanic’ Spencer, who was a massive underdog, earned a majority decision victory over YouTube sensation Nichlmao on the Qatar card too
