EntertainmentSportsKSI announces Dillon Danis as replacement opponent for Wayne Bridge

KSI has revealed that he will be fighting MMA fighter Dillon Danis in the next stage of his boxing career.

The 31-year-old will take on Danis on March 29 at the AO Arena in Manchester in what will be his first fight since losing to Tommy Fury in October 2023.

KSI was originally scheduled to fight England and Chelsea footballer Wayne Bridge

‘The Nightmare’ had been searching for a replacement opponent for his Misfits Boxing comeback after ex-Chelsea and England international Wayne Bridge withdrew from their planned March 29 clash.

Bridge announced he would not fight KSI just days after the unlikely bout was confirmed, citing the latter as crossing the line for the main reason he pulled out.

During a face-off in the ring on a Misfits card headlined by Darren Till in January, they exchanged words, with KSI being particularly brutal.

Wayne Bridge, aren’t you the guy that let John Terry smash your ex?” KSI said.

It was also revealed that the YouTuber-turned-professional boxer explored other options, including the nephew of former world champion Duke McKenzie, Leon McKenzie.

However, those talks never came to fruition as KSI’s team went for another option and he will now fight Danis.

KSI was originally scheduled to fight Danis in January 2023 at London’s Wembley Arena, but the American withdrew from the contest as he was ‘underprepared’ and had ‘no coach’, according to KSI’s manager Mams Taylor.

KSI made his professional boxing debut against Logan Paul, the older brother of Jake Paul, in the pair’s highly anticipated rematch back in November 2019.

Both men had finished their first bout in August 2018 level on points, but it was KSI who stole the victory in the rematch, winning the six-round bout via split decision.

KSI has gone on to claim victorious in his Misfits boxing promotion over the likes of Swarmz, Luis Alcaraz Pineda and Faze Temper.

  • No Contest decision to Joe Fournier in May 2023 (Misfits)
  • Win over Faze Temper in January 2023 (Misfits)
  • Win over Luiz Alcaraz Pineda in August 2022 (Misfits)
  • Win over Swarmz in August 2022 (Misfits)
  • Win over Logan Paul in November 2019 (Professional debut)
  • Draw with Logan Paul in August 2018 (Amateur)
  • Win over Joe Weller in February 2018 (Amateur)

His first defeat in the squared circle came at the hands of Fury, the half-brother of British boxing legend Tyson Fury.

Fury beat KSI via unanimous decision in Manchester after six rounds, after the former had also picked up a victory over the younger Paul brother ten months prior.

Danis fought on the same card as the KSI vs Fury fight having taken on Logan.

The fight saw Logan claim victory by disqualification after Danis attempted to take Paul down with a guillotine move and Paul tried to punch his opponent while on the ground.

The build-up of the bout was overshadowed by a plethora of personal comments made by Danis about Logan’s fiancee, Nina Agdal.
