Jude Bellingham joined an elite list of players with his latest Real Madrid goal.

The 21-year-old opened the scoring in his side’s Spanish Super Cup victory over Real Mallorca.

Real Madrid went on to secure a 3-0 victory in Saudi Arabia to book their place in Sunday’s final.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side will now face Barcelona, who beat Athletic Bilbao, as they look to win back-to-back Super Cup trophies.

However, it was Bellingham’s goal which made history in the semi-final against last season’s Copa del Rey runners-up.

His 63rd minute strike made him only the second Englishman to score in the Spanish Super Cup.

The first player from England to do so also scored in a 3-0 Real Madrid win over Mallorca almost 22 years ago.

David Beckham found the net at the Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg of the final in August 2003.

The goal was the only time the former Three Lions captain scored in the competition.

Meanwhile, Kieran Trippier scored in a penalty shootout defeat for Atletico Madrid in 2020.

The right-back was the only Atletico player to register from 12 yards as they were beaten 4-1 on spot-kicks by their city rivals.

During four years in the Spanish capital, Beckham scored 20 goals in 159 appearances for Los Blancos.

Bellingham has already surpassed that tally after just 18 months with the club.

His goal on Thursday night takes the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder’s tally to 32, with nine of those coming this term.

He also now has the chance to add a second Super Cup to his trophy cabinet.

A victory over Barcelona on Sunday would also see Real Madrid pull level with their bitter rivals on a record 14 titles.
