Jill Scott has blamed Roy Keane for her ill-discipline on the pitch as a young player.
The former England Women’s midfielder revealed she idolised Keane whilst growing up, with the pair both playing in the same position.

However, Scott’s adoration for the former Manchester United captain also got her into trouble with referees whilst growing up.
The pair now work alongside each other as co-hosts of The Overlap.
They present the podcast alongside Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright, with regular special guests.
Appearing on Hawksbee and Baker, Scott was asked what Keane is like off camera compared to how he appears as a pundit.
The 37-year-old explained: “You know what? He’s exactly what you see.
“You know I always say to Roy the annoying thing is like sometimes you want to get mad with him but 99 per cent of the time he’s actually right in what he sees.
“He’s got very good values, very good morals and he just wants to put things right. Sometimes it’s everything that he sees he wants to put right.
“But he’s a great guy and I spoke before about, obviously when I met David Beckham, Roy was one of my heroes growing-up, centre midfielder.
“I always joke that’s why I used to get sent off because I used to watch kind of how he tackled people. But he’s a great guy.
“And again, I feel so lucky to be working alongside them guys. Yeah, we have a laugh.”
Keane was known for his combative and tough-tackling approach as a player for both club and country.
Across his spells with United, Nottingham Forest and Celtic, he received 100 yellow cards and was sent off 11 times in 622 appearances.
Meanwhile, the former Republic of Ireland skipper was also booked a further ten times and shown a red card once in his 67 caps for the Boys in Green.
As for Scott, she was only sent off twice in her senior career, with both coming for Manchester City.
The first of which saw her receive a three-match ban for headbutting Arsenal’s Jade Bailey during a match in 2015.
Scott avoided seeing red for the Lionesses, though, as she won 161 caps and won the Women’s Euros in 2022 before retiring after the tournament.
