Harry Kane celebrated his half-century with Bayern Munich by rewriting the Bundesliga history books yet again.
Kane notched his 50th Bundesliga appearance for the Bavarians as they beat the struggling Holstein Kiel 4-3 at the Allianz Arena.
It didn’t take long for Bayern to open the scoring against the 17th-placed side as Jamal Musiala netted in the 19th minute.
Kane added the second in first-half stoppage time when he headed home from a Kingsley Coman cross.
It proved to be a history-making goal for Kane, as it was his 54th in the Bundesliga.
Kane’s strike put him in rarefied air given no other player had scored as many in their first 50 Bundesliga fixtures.
It took just 43 seconds into the second half for Kane to net his 55th league goal, as his glanced header put Bayern three goals up.
Kane’s double against Holstein Kiel meant he scored more goals than Erling Haaland did in his first 50 Bundesliga games.
Haaland spent two-and-a-half years with German giants Borussia Dortmund and scored goals for fun before eventually securing a big-money move to Manchester City in 2022.
However, in the Norwegian’s first 50 league games, he scored 50 goals.
Serge Gnabry scored Bayern’s fourth as the hosts looked to be in cruise control.
Bundesliga battlers Holstein Kiel got on the scoresheet in the 62nd minute through Finn Porath in what appeared to be no more than a consolation.
But the 17th-placed side threatened to pull off a shock result as a double from Steven Skrzybski in second-half stoppage-time reduced the deficit to just one goal.
Thankfully for Vincent Kompany‘s side, they held on and secured a sixth-straight league win that puts them nine points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.
As for Holstein Kiel, the loss ensured their winless streak on the road remained intact.
Kane’s 55 goals in 50 league games isn’t the only Bundesliga record he broke this season.
The former Tottenham Hotspur superstar became the quickest player to reach 50 goal involvements in September, coincidentally against Holstein Kiel.
Kane netted a hat-trick as Bayern ran out 6-1 winners in the first encounter between the teams earlier this season.
Thanks to the hat-trick, it meant Kane yet again beat Haaland to a Bundesliga record as he reached 50 goal involvements in 35 games, seven fewer than the Norwegian.
Kane had already become a Bundesliga record holder after he scored the most goals in a debut season, netting 36 times in 32 games.
