Harry Kane’s latest goals for Bayern Munich have seen him surpass Alan Shearer with an incredible scoring feat.
The striker netted two penalties in Bayern’s 3-0 Bundesliga win over Werder Bremen on Friday night.
Kane’s goals were his 20th and 21st in the German top-flight this season and has seen him reach a stunning record.
He has netted 20 or more league goals in a single season for the eighth time in his career.
The 31-year-old first did so for Tottenham in the 2014/15 campaign with 21 goals, which increased to 25 the following year.
Kane then scored 29 in the 2016/17, 30 in 2017/18 and 23 for the 2018/19 campaign.
He delivered 30 Premier League goals in his final season at Spurs and made an instant impact at Bayern by netting 36.
Now he has eight 20-goal tallies to his name in league competitions, which is more than what Shearer achieved during his career.
The former forward hit the same amount during seven campaigns across his spells at Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle.
Shearer’s best league total came during Blackburn’s Premier League winning 1994/95 season when he netted 34 to win the Golden Boot.
Kane’s efforts are the most of any English player in modern football, notably since the inception of the Premier League and Champions League.
His latest goals have increased his lead in the Bundesliga top scorer race this season, with now Manchester City star Omar Marmoush closest on 15 for Eintracht Frankfurt.
In all competitions though, Kane has 28 goals in as many outings.
His total tally for Bayern is even more impressive as he has reached 72 in 73 outings for the German giants.
Kane has 22 assists to his name for the club too, meaning he looks set to reach 100 goal contributions in the coming weeks.
Bayern maintain a strong lead at the top of the Bundesliga as nine points separate them and reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen.
