Gary Lineker has been snapped up by ITV for a new TV show – with it hinted he could spill the beans on his impending BBC exit.
The Match of the Day presenter will step down from his role at the end of the current season.

However, he will soon be back on screen after landing a temporary role with ITV.
Lineker will not be fronting football coverage for the broadcaster, though.
Instead, the former England striker is amongst the celebrity guests on a new show called Assembly.
The programme will see its participants face their ‘most honest interview yet’.
During his appearance, Lineker will field questions from people who are neurodivergent, autistic and/or learning disabled.
An ITV statement read: “After a long and illustrious career as both a Golden Boot-winning footballer and top sports broadcaster, and with his tenure as the longest-serving presenter of Match of the Day drawing to a close this summer, there’s no end to the stories that Lineker might share.
“Carefully considered PR fluff won’t cut it on this show.
“And the celebrities can expect plenty of mischief and surprises once they get in the hot seat.”
Alongside Lineker, other confirmed guests include actors David Tennant and Danny Dyer as well as pop star Jade Thirlwall.
The 64-year-old was previously approached by ITV to appear on Celebrity Big Brother.

Lineker responded by joking his fee would be £50million on The Rest is Football podcast.
It comes as he prepares to step down as host of Match of the Day later this year.
After 25 years as the show’s presenter, Lineker has decided it’s time for a change.
Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan have been confirmed as his replacements.
Meanwhile, Lineker will remain with the BBC for coverage of next season’s FA Cup.
He will also be a part of their team for next year’s World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA.
Lineker’s final match with the BBC is set to be the final on July 19 2026 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
