Friday racing tips
- CATTERICK
2.35: Stick With Me Sam 4/1 (1pt)
3.35: Ballygeary 6/1 each-way (1pt) - LINGFIELD
1.45: Always Busy 7/4 (1pt)
2.45: Passing Well 6/1 each-way (1pt)
Stick With Me Sam
Stick With Me Sam didn’t go well on chase debut but on second attempt at this discipline stuck to the task well at 14/1.
There’s still room for improvement though with some inefficient jumping and a few mistakes along the way, but given the market improvement from the first to the second it wouldn’t be surprising to see him jump even better now.
We Got Your Back was dropped down to 2m at Leicester last month, having tried his hand at 2m5f and 2m7f on his first two starts over fences.
The former was a respectable effort in third but clearly found 2m7f to be stretching the stamina as he finished 11th of 11.
But at Leicester kept on to win ahead of Lady Pretender.
My concern would be the fact he drifted right on the run in, though he still forged on well to go and win.
Stick With Me Sam placed behind Ideallko last time out who went on to win again over hurdles this time just two weeks ago, so the form is clearly decent and in this sphere could go on to win at a decent price.
Ballygeary
Won five times over hurdles in 16 attempts, a pretty good record especially in this field.
He’s been right amongst the minor places in two of his starts this season in tough Class 2 handicaps.
Now, down 4lb since the start of the season he’s at a dangerous mark and they look to have found a race winnable which the stable need.

Always Busy
This seven-year-old seems to be a different horse over fences.
Rated 93 going over fences and has definitely got the hang of things in the last two races.
He finished far, far back twice at the start of the season but winning last time out was a big sign of things turning around, as he also finished a close second at Taunton in December.
He’d previously reached a decent level over hurdles, rated 116, and is very inconsistent but perhaps the tides have turned now he’s settled down and seven-years-old.
Passing Well
Decent form in defeat this season including two second place finishes in six-runner events at Sandown.
Went fourth of four behind Martator when 6/4 favourite at Newbury in March but that has obviously shown how good that winner is as he’s since dominated going up in the ratings.
He goes well over a variety of distances so going up to 3m5f might be the ticket.
