Royal Rumble winners often go on to become stars in WWE.
John Cena, Becky Lynch and Triple H are shining examples of this in recent times.
However, Royal Rumbles can also leave superstars a bit embarrassed.
At the 2010 Rumble, MVP failed to win the United States Championship against the Miz earlier in the night.
So, in the 30-man Rumble, MVP went straight for his foe, eliminating The Miz and himself after just seven seconds.
Meanwhile, in 1997, Jerry Lawler took a never-seen-before route from the commentary table to the ring to Vince McMahon’s horror.
But he was eliminated after just four seconds by Bret Hart.
The 1995 Royal Rumble was a memorable one, too, but for the wrong reasons.
Both Owen Hart and Mo were chucked over the ropes after only three seconds – and there were other quick eliminations, too.
Shawn Michaels, the eventual winner despite starting as entrant no.1, made quick work of Bushwhacker Luke and Jacob Blu, who both lasted 12 and 17 seconds, respectively.
That wasn’t even Luke’s shortest time in a Rumble match either, as he was eliminated after four seconds in 1991.
Out of all the quick eliminations, Santino Marella’s swift 2009 exit is arguably the greatest one.
The Canadian wrestler, who was entrant no.28, would have fancied his chances coming into the match so late.
And it was a record-breaking night for Marella as he became the WWE superstar to suffer the fastest Royal Rumble elimination.
He raced down to the ring, dived inside, only to be eliminated by Kane after just ONE SECOND.
To give you an indication as to how quick this was, Marella’s entrance music was still playing when his feet touched the ground.
After being dumped out, he hilariously exclaimed ‘I wasn’t ready! I wasn’t ready!’
