Erling Haaland sent a cheeky reminder that this Arsenal team has won no title yet after the Gunners took Manchester City to the cleaners.
Meanwhile, his dad Alfe-Inge Haaland hit back at Arsenal after City were pummelled 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Haaland Jr got on the scoresheet but it was a match to forget for the Norwegian striker, who was mocked by Gunners fans in the stands and on social media during and after the match.
Ther 24-year-old also failed to get the better of Arsenal defender Gabriel as they renewed their rivalry on the pitch, with the Brazilian celebrating Arsenal’s opening goal in front of his opponent.
Kendrick Lamar’s song ‘Humble’ was also played in the stadium at full-time in reference to the forward’s comments to Mikel Arteta at the end of the reverse fixture in September.
A fan was even spotted holding up a banner with Haaland’s ‘Stay humble, eh’ remark written on it.
Haaland was seen pointing at a gold Premier League logo on the side of his Man City shirt at Gabriel in an apparent reminder at none of the Gunners squad boasting a Premier League winner’s medal.
He also did the same when applauding the City fans post-match, while also pointing at his head in an apparent dig to Arsenal.
And a post on Arsenal’s official X account prompted a response from Haaland’s dad.
As a player, the 52-year-old spent three years with City along with spells at Nottingham Forest and Leeds whilst in England.
During that period, he made 47 appearances for the club, scoring three goals.
The former right-back took exception to a snap of Myles Lewis-Skelly copying Haaland’s celebration after scoring.
Alongside the picture of Lewis-Skelly and his team-mates, Arsenal’s X account added the caption: “This team.”
However, Haaland Sr responded: “<> that wins everything. Ehhhhh, not.”
Since his son joined City in 2022, Pep Guardiola’s side have won six trophies including the treble and back-to-back league titles.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have not lifted a major piece of silverware since their last FA Cup triumph five years ago.
Despite being largely frustrated by Gabriel, Haaland did make history by scoring his side’s only goal of the match.
His header was the 250th goal of his senior club career, of which 115 have been for City.
Haaland has reached the landmark in 313 matches, becoming the quickest to do so after surpassing Lionel Messi’s record.
