OpenDramatic Tammy Abraham goal sparks wild dressing room scenes as cigar-smoking Milan boss celebrates rare feat

Tammy Abraham has cemented himself in AC Milan folklore and his new boss Sergio Conceicao knew just the way to celebrate.

Former Chelsea ace Abraham completed Milan’s epic comeback from 2-0 down as the Rossoneri beat bitter rivals Inter 3-2 in the Supercoppa Italiana final in Saudi Arabia.

Goals from Lautaro Martinez and Mehdi Taremi had gifted Inter a two-goal advantage and a third-straight Supercoppa Italiana looked to be on the cards.

But Milan refused to lay down quietly as Theo Hernandez kicked off the epic come-from-behind victory with his goal in the 52nd minute.

Milan found the equaliser in the 80th minute through United States international Christian Pulisic.

The winger, another former Chelsea star, produced a sweet left-footed finish inside the box, twisting his body to shoot across Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer and into the net.

However, Pulisic saved his best contribution of the night until second-half stoppage time.

Pulisic slowed down play on the right flank before he cut inside onto his left and split the Inter back line with a pass into the path of Rafael Leao, who had made a driving run from outside the box.

Leao intelligently popped his cross over the leg of a trailing defender and straight to the feet of Abraham, who made no mistake from directly in front of goal to land the knockout punch in the third minutes of stoppage time.

Abraham’s strike sparked euphoric scenes among Milan’s stars as their substitutes raced across the field to join in with the celebrations.

It was Abraham’s sixth goal in all competitions since joining Milan on loan from AS Roma in the summer, but it may prove to be his most memorable one.

The celebrations for the red and blacks kicked up a notch once they had returned to the dressing room.

Surprisingly, it was not any of the victorious players who delivered the most iconic moments after the game.

That was reserved for Conceicao, who was rightly proud of a very rare accomplishment.

Remarkably, the win over Inter was just the second match of Conceicao’s tenure as Milan boss and he was already celebrating a trophy.

Considering it has come against his side’s bitter rivals the party more than matched the occasion.

On Abraham’s Instagram story, Conceicao is seen puffing on a cigar and showing off his dance moves as his players and fellow staff members roar him on.

It is Conceicao’s first role since departing Porto at the end of the 2023/24 season.

The 50-year-old was brought in after Milan axed Paulo Fonseca just 24 games into his stint at the San Siro.

Although it may be all smiles and cigars for Conceicao at the moment, his attention will quickly shift to Serie A.

Milan sit eighth in the league on 27 points, eight away from Lazio who occupy fourth and the final Champions League spot on offer.

Conceicao is yet to lead Milan in a league fixture as of yet, with his only two games coming in the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final against Juventus and final.

His first Serie A game in charge of Milan is against 17th-placed Cagliari, who ended a run of five-straight defeats with a 2-1 win over ten-man Monza.
