EntertainmentSportsDerek Chisora and Dillian Whyte discuss trilogy fight in hilarious phone call as icon contemplates retirement U-turn

Derek Chisora and Dillian Whyte have held hilarious talks over meeting in an all-British trilogy scrap.

Chisora is set for one final bow on UK shores next weekend when he takes Otto Wallin, having beaten Joe Joyce in a thrilling clash at the end of last year.

The British boxing icon is a real fan favourite, and has fought in some epic battles against the likes of Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury and Whyte on two occasions.

The ‘Body Snatcher’ has called for a third battle with Chisora, given the pair entertained huge crowds in Manchester and London in two slug-fests in 2016 and 2018.

Their most recent rematch saw Whyte pull off a stunning late stoppage of Chisora, who was left on the canvas, and it was believed to be a conclusion to their rivalry.

Now in a video that was posted on WAR’s social media, the pair spoke about a third showdown.

Whyte began: “You like getting your ass whooped bro, that’s donkey stuff.”

Chisora replied: “You whooped my ass twice bro. So why would I get in the ring with you again?

“You’d whoop my ass again.”

His rival continued: “If you are turning down a fight you’d never forgive yourself.

“You never know, let’s just see what happens.”

Chisora responded: “How old are you bro? I’m 41 now, why are you wanting to beat up a 41-year-old.

He insisted he would make a decision after he faces Wallin next weekend

“Listen after the fight, let me think about it and I will let you know.”

Whyte wished Chisora luck for his upcoming tilt with Wallin, and it is now in the veteran’s court as to whether he will entertain the bout.

Chisora has been embroiled in some gruelling encounters, and many called for him to retire after back-to-back defeats against Joseph Parker.

But he is now on a two-fight win streak having beaten Gerald Washington before his stunning victory over Joyce.

He expected his clash with Wallin at the Co-op Arena in Manchester would be his last on domestic shores, and suggested he wants to face Francis Ngannou in his 50th and final bout.

But the lure of a payday against Whyte, in an event which could be viewed as a potential commercial opportunity, may be too much to reject.

His rival, who recently returned in a tough-fought win over Ebenezer Tetteh in December, has even suggested he’d be willing to fight Chisora in MMA.

Chisora did claim after his win last year, that he would entertain a clash with Whyte providing there is drug testing adopted.

He said:  “I will have a rematch with Dillian [Whyte] as long as he’s clean 100 per cent.

“There is no point in fighting someone who is not clean, but if he wants a rematch, I’ll give it him.”
