OpenDaniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker LIVE: UK start time, undercard and how to follow as British heavyweight seeks to set up Oleksandr Usyk rematch

Daniel Dubois will defend his IBF heavyweight title against Joseph Parker next month in a mouthwatering clash.

The British heavyweight destroyed Anthony Joshua in his last fight, brutally knocking out the former world champion.

Dubois will take on experienced New Zealander Parker next

He has already publicly called out Oleksandr Usyk for a rematch after their first clash in Poland in 2023 saw the Ukrainian elite TKO Dubois.

However, there was some controversy in that fight as the Brit was adjudged to have hit Usyk with a low blow, meaning he was given time to recovery when he could have been counted out.

He then got off the canvas and finished the fight pretty quickly, so Dubois wants another chance to face the undefeated champion and challenged him in the ring after Usyk beat Tyson Fury for a second time.

But standing in his way of that is Parker, who is a former WBO champion himself, and he wants that IBF belt.

The 33-year-old has enjoyed an excellent career and is coming into this off the back of wins over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang.

Dubois vs Parker: What has been said?

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn believes that Parker will beat Dubois.

He said: “I think Joe Parker wins. I really do. I’m a big Joe Parker fan. He’s a mate of mine. I’m kind of his unofficial promoter.

“For Dubois, everyone is talking about Usyk or the AJ rematch. Joe does all the things you need to be able to do to beat Dubois, which is take him deep, work-rate, have a good chin, keep landing, keep chipping away.

“Dubois used to have a threshold where he was asked questions, and it used to come after three or four rounds. Now, because of his confidence, that might come after seven, eight, nine rounds.

“You’ve got to take him there and then you’ve got to make Dubois question his heart. Joe is the kind of fighter to do that, so I think he wins.”

Dubois will be feeling great after knocking Joshua out

Meanwhile, Dubois has explained why he decided to jump into the ring and confront Usyk in December.

He said: “This is boxing at the end of the day, any publicity is good publicity.

“If they hate it or they like it then yeah. I’ve been boxing long enough to understand that now.

“It’s not all about having everything your way and everyone love you, but as long as they want to see you that is all that matters.

“But at the end of the day, I want to get through Parker and then that fight [with Usyk] is done.

“It’s all about making noise, and as a world champion you can choose your destiny and path.

“I’m just challenging in my eyes and I want to become undisputed champion and that’s my intentions.”
