Bristol City v Burnley predictions

Both teams will take strong unbeaten records into this weekend’s clash and each picked up a win a fortnight ago in their last outing before the international break.

Burnley got back to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Swansea in their most recent game, ending a four match winless run for Scott Parker’s side, who travel to Bristol on Saturday lunchtime fourth in the table and four points off the automatic promotion places.

The Clarets have lost just twice in the league this season, and have suffered defeat just once in their last 12 matches in all competitions, and currently boast the best defence in the Championship having conceded just six league goals in 15 games this season.

The Lancashire side have struggled in front of goal of late though, scoring just one goals in their last four matches.

Bristol City prepare for the visit of Burnley having lost just one of their last 10 matches of their own, albeit with five of those matches ending in draws, which has seen a steady climb up the Championship table.

Liam Manning’s side were down in 17th in the standings in mid-September, but have climbed into the top 10 following their 2-0 victory at Norwich before the international break, and now find themselves just three points shy of the play-offs.

Two wins in their last three matches leaves the Robins in confident mood ahead of their return to action on Saturday, who have lost only once at home in the league this season, which came in their last game at Ashton Gate as two late goals saw Sheffield United come from behind to secure victory.

Despite their unbeaten effort, the West Country side have only won twice in the league at home this season, and are without a win in four games on their home turf, leaving them with four draws from their seven games at Ashton Gate so far this season.

Burnley have won their last seven matches against Saturday’s opponents, which includes wins in each of their last three visits to Ashton Gate, though with their struggles in front of goal in recent weeks and both teams enjoying long unbeaten runs, a draw looks most likely, perhaps even a 0-0.

Bristol City v Burnley betting tips

In their last four matches, Burnley have scored one goal and conceded one goal, and coming up against a Bristol City side who have drawn three of their last four home, with two of those ending goalless, a bore draw seems a very real possibility.

Both teams have drawn five of their last nine matches and are both on long unbeaten runs, the Robins with one defeat in 10 and the Clarets with one defeat in 12, it looks likely that both runs will be extended this weekend.
