Coleman, four times a rider on a Cheltenham winner across a glittering career that was cut short by injury, is backing the odds on favourite for a third Gold Cup victory in a row.
“A lot of the favourites, I really find hard to oppose,” he said.
“Like Galopin Des Champs (1/2), I think that’s going to be special barring, god forbid, anything happens.
“He’s by-far the best horse in the race and it’ll be part of history, watching a horse win its third Gold Cup. I’m really looking forward to watching him.”
For the feature race of Day One’s Cheltenham action, the 36-year-old Irishman is struggling to pick a winner between the two favourites:
“I’m undecided on the Champion Hurdle – I was very keen on Brighterdaysahead (9/4) until I saw Constitution Hill’s (4/7) work earlier in the week and that looked pretty spectacular. So, I don’t know which way to go there.”
Ahead of Thursday’s Ryanair Chase, Coleman added: “I think Fact to File is a good price (11/8). I think he should be odds-on for the Ryanair.”
Four-time Cheltenham Festival winner Aidan Coleman spoke on behalf of bet365 in the lead-up to the 2025 Cheltenham Festival. Racing fans can explore the latest bet365 Cheltenham betting odds and place their bets on Cheltenham Races by visiting the bet365 Cheltenham Hub.
