Taylor Swift insists the Kansas City Chiefs have no chance of winning the Super Bowl.
Despite Swift being born in Pennsylvania and previously revealing her Philadelphia Eagles fandom, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce may still be surprised to hear his girlfriend has done an about-turn on her passionate support of the reigning champions.
But, fortunately for their relationship, the Taylor Swift in question is an up-and-coming MMA fighter from Britain.
The 21-year-old made headlines when he admitted he had considered changing his name as people used to start laughing at his weigh-ins.
But now he is using it to help him stand out and fuel his rise through the amateur ranks with the ultimate goal of making the UFC.
Swift, who has been fighting for 15 months, joined talkSPORT on Thursday to discuss his connection to the billionaire pop star.
“The first time I realized I was probably about 10,” he told the Hawksbee and Jacobs show. “Surprisingly, I didn’t really get much stick at school.
“It does get a good few laughs [before a fight] and at weigh-ins as well.
“You don’t really see your opponent much before an amateur fight but If I ever turn pro I’ll probably get quite a lot of stick.
“All publicity’s good publicity,” he added.
Taylor – the version that hails from the horse racing town of Cheltenham in the west of England – has not hit up his famous namesake on Instagram as he’s not sure she’d see it with her millions of followers.
The youngster, who works as electrical engineer while trying to turn professional, had a bold prediction for the Super Bowl when quizzed on his NFL knowledge.
“I don’t think the Chiefs have a chance to be honest,” he said in a boost to Eagles fans.
However, his bold prediction was said with a cheeky smile on his face to show he was only teasing as it’s not a sport he keeps up to date with.
The British fighter has not clued up on Tay Tay’s back catalog either.
“I couldn’t name two of her songs, I haven’t got a clue,” he admitted.
The American Swift will be more bullish about the Chiefs’ chances.
She has been something of a good omen for Kelce and is yet to see him lose a playoff game.
After watching the Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens on the road to clinch the AFC Championship last year, she was stunned at the post-game scenes at Arrowhead on Sunday.

She joined Travis on the field after he helped Kansas City beat the Bills.
“Oh my god this is so insane. Look at this, this is not a real-life situation,” she was heard saying.
The Chiefs, given they have won the previous two Super Bowls to add to the 1969 and 2019 triumphs, are favourites to win it again and make it three-in-a-row. No other team has done that before.
The ‘greatest show on turf’ is being held in New Orleans – the city where Kelce infamously partied so hard he got kicked off his college team.
After taking on Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators, he went too hard in the ‘Big Easy’, and ultimately failed a drugs test for marijuana, landing on the school’s suspended list.
“I got kicked out of college because of (that incident),” Kelce said during an appearance on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast in July 2023.
“I partied a little too much down there, got hit with a drug test and from that point on, I realized I’ve got to tighten the f*** up.”
Luckily, older brother Jason begged coaches to give his little brother another chance and when he returned Travis switched from quarterback to tight end – the position where he has enjoyed a career that will end in the Hall of Fame.
His legacy is secure but nobody has ever won three Super Bowls in a row – the chance to do that will be all the fuel he needs to prove the English Taylor Swift wrong.
