Open‘Aura around this guy’ – Wayne Rooney’s replacement leaves Plymouth players and fans in awe with incredible speech

Wayne Rooney’s replacement at Plymouth Argyle left players and fans in awe with his first words upon starting the job.

Miron Muslic was named as Plymouth boss on January 10, signing a three-and-a-half year deal to succeed the Man United legend.

After their shock 1-0 victory over Brentford in the FA Cup last weekend, Plymouth posted Muslic’s inspiring first words to the squad and staff members.

“Good to be here, very good to be here. Normally, I would always address my words firstly to the team. But, this morning, I will address my first words to Nance (caretaker boss Kevin Nancekivell).” Muslic said.

“Your courage, your commitment, your selfnessness is an inspiration. There are moments in life and moments on the football pitch where the heat is on, the pressure is on and people just disappear, run away and hide, other people like Nance step up. That’s courage, balls.

“When I saw the celebrations after the game, it was pure, it was from the heart. Not fake, pure and from the heart. Goosebumps all over my body!

“I know it has been difficult for you over the last weeks, suffering, struggling. It’s part of our job. You are professional football players, it’s not easy being a professional football player.

“We have to perform day in, day out, every single weekend, and we are an object. We don’t have a private life, they (outsiders) can do what they want with us. They can destroy us every single day and every single game, that’s why it’s difficult to be a professional football player. That’s why we are here, because it’s hard.

“Nothing in the next weeks will be easy for us, no problem! Let’s face this challenge in front of us with commitment, with heart, with togetherness, because you impressed me against Brentford.”

“Going there, and delivering a performance the way you did. F****** hell, well done,” the 42-year-old added.

“Showing this passion, this conviction, this togetherness, this will be the ingredients we need to face the challenge in front of us, no doubt. And it’s going to be hard, no problem,” he concluded.

Fans were left with goosebumps from the Austrian coach’s rousing words, with many sharing their thoughts online.

“Wow, he speaks well” one wrote, before another added that they will see: ‘”League is wrapped up already, Argyle in the Prem next season”.

“If those players won’t run through a brick wall for him then they’re gone. There’s an aura around this guy. Incredibly powerful speech. I think it’s clear, we won’t be winning beauty contests but he’s here to win games. I just want to win games. I’m fine with that,” another shared.

A fourth wrote: “This definitely shows strong leadership. It’ll be interesting to see how Plymouth fair”.

“This man is the real deal. How did we land this man at our club? Supposedly even PL teams have been watching him. He’s a rising manager star on many radars. The way he commands that speech is unreal. I can see a very good 3 years with this man. WELCOME!” one penned.

It was an incredible night for Plymouth’s Morgan Whittaker, who sealed a 1-0 victory in the 82nd minute over Brentford to send fans into jubilation late on.

The win sets up a blockbuster tie with Liverpool in Devon for the fourth round on 8 February.
