Ange Postecoglou was in good spirits after a group of Tamworth fans made their negative feelings very clear to him.
The Tottenham boss received a hostile, albeit jokey, reception at The Lamb Stadium for the FA Cup third round clash, which his side won 3-0 after extra time.
Despite it being a nervy occasion for more than 100 minutes, the Australian boss took it all in his stride.
Footage on social media showed Postecogolou stood in his technical area as fans shouted “w*****, w*****” at him from behind the dugouts.
Stood with his arms folded, the Spurs boss looked directly at them with a wry smile on his face.
He then started laughing and shook his head with the fans heard to be applauding his reaction.
Postecoglou then waved his hands in a circular motion to suggest that he wanted to hear more from them.
While appearing calm on the outside, Postecoglou was surely getting a bit nervous as the FA Cup clash against the National League side went to extra time.
Thankfully for him, goals from Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson ensured that Spurs claimed victory and earned their spot in the fourth round.
While the cagey nature of their performance was in stark contrast to their victory over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, Postecoglou wasn’t keen to make comparisons.
“I don’t think it’s a swing in level of performance. It’s just a game of football,” said the Australian.
“It’s a still difficult to score goals, it doesn’t matter who you’re playing against. As far as I’m aware we’re through to the next round and that was the objective today.
“It’s very easy on a day like this to lose your head when things aren’t going your way and you realise the consequences, but for the most part we stayed calm, persistent and got through.”
Praising the hosts, he added: “Credit to Tamworth, they made it hard for us. They should be really proud of their efforts and I’m sure everyone in the ground had a good day. For us, we move on.”
