Anaheim Ducks at Calgary Flames predictions
Mason McTavish is on a heater at the moment as he collected multiple points in his last three games amassing six points. The 21-year-old has collected 26 points through 44 appearances this year.
The Ducks leading offensive player lit the lamp once again against Seattle on Tuesday. Troy Terry registered his 16th goal of the season while extending his point streak to his last for outings.
The lone scorer in Calgary’s failure on Tuesday, Blake Coleman sneaked one past the netminder on the power play against the Capitals. The 33-year-old centerman halted his three-game goalless run, currently sitting with 11 tallys on the year.
The Flames leading point-getter was held off the stat sheet for the second time in his last three appearances. Johnathan Huberdeau only managed to produce one shot on net in just under 22 minutes of ice time against Washington. Through 49 games, Huberdeau has stockpiled 19 goals and 36 points.
A rare occurrence materialized on Tuesday for the Flames rookie shot-stopper, Dustin Wolf. The goalie finished with a save percentage below .900 for only the fifth time in 16 starts on Saddledome ice. The Californian native has 18 wins so far, tied for ninth most in the NHL.
Anaheim Ducks at Calgary Flames tip
The lowest-scoring team in the league has suddenly become merciless on offence as the Ducks have cataloged 16 goals in their previous three games.
Despite the recent increase in the goal department, we feel the Flames are the team to back in Thursday’s tilt.
Recently, Calgary has had their way against Anaheim, in the Duck’s last six visits to the Saddledome, they have lost in five instances. Adding to the road woes overall, the Ducks have lost six of their last eight road games.
The visitors are conceding an average of 3.16 goals per road game, backing a good home team like Calgary, they should be able to exploit the Duck’s weaknesses and bounce back after Tuesday’s shortcomings.
