Aaron Rodgers gives four-word ultimatum on what it will take for him to return to NFL

EntertainmentSportsAaron Rodgers gives four-word ultimatum on what it will take for him to return to NFL

Who wants a 41-year-old quarterback?

That is the question Aaron Rodgers himself is asking.

And the question to that answer seems to be his ultimatum.

TMZ tracked down Rodgers and asked him what he is looking for in his next team and what factors may be at play.

“If they want you,” Rodgers responded.

Simple as that.

When asked for anything more, Rodgers put it plainly.

“If they got a good team.”

Again, simple enough.

The hard part of this equation, will be finding a ‘good team’ who actually wants Rodgers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers?

They hardly qualify as a good team.

The Tennessee Titans?

They have the first pick in the draft.

Both teams have been linked and rumored to the four-time MVP, but neither have hinted at their decisions surrounding the quarterback position.

Rodgers is coming off a 5-12 season with the New York Jets, bringing an end to a disappointing two-year stint in the Big Apple.

His raw numbers – 3,897 passing yards and 28 passing touchdowns against 11 interceptions, with a 63% completion percentage and 90.5 rating – were good.

But not great.

It was clear to anyone watching the 41-year-old, that he had clearly lost a couple steps and struggled returning from his Achilles injury.

Will year two post-Achilles tear improve his play?

Possibly.

But being on the wrong side of 40, this may just be who Rodgers is now.

A middle of the pack quarterback who can provide big moments here and there, but more often than not, will be a low-end starer for however many more seasons he decides to play.

The flashes of his once golden arm are still there, but the man with the second most MVPs in NFL history, is long gone.
