The NFL on Fox is in for a major change.
Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson are no longer employed by Fox Sports.
Neither of them had their contracts renewed by Fox once their deals expired following Super Bowl LIX.
That was their last day with the network.
Their next moves are still uncertain, as Andrews hasn’t closed the door on a return to the company she has been working for since 2012, while Thompson is still employed by Amazon’s Thursday Night Football show.
On their Calm Down with Erin and Charissa podcast, they dropped a few clues as to what their futures might entail.
“Erin and I also have an affinity for local news,” Thompson said.
“I hope it’s a retirement community in Florida or somewhere where they can roll us out and we can work like a couple days a week.
“Can you imagine?”
“I really hope I’m still employed by Fox when Fox gets a Vegas Super Bowl,” Andrews noted.
The next Super Bowl that Fox has the broadcast rights for, is Super Bowl LXIII (63).
The location is still yet to be decided.
If Andrews were to have it her way, she would find her way back with Fox before then.
Another Fox employee that is nearing the end of his broadcasting journey is Terry Bradshaw.
The 76-year-old knows his time is coming to an end.
During the week of the Super Bowl, the Hall of Famer revealed how he would like to end his career.
“I told my wife before I left the room a while ago,” Bradshaw said at a FOX Sports press conference in New Orleans before Super Bowl LIX.
“I was sitting there and I got two years left at Fox. I’m 76. It’s a young man’s game, I get that. Everybody wants the new thing.
“So I said if we can get to the next Super Bowl, I’ll be 80.
“I think that’s time and that’s 80 years old and that’s pushing it.”
Again, Fox doesn’t have the Super Bowl again until 2029, so Bradshaw will have to hold on until then.
Along with Bradshaw, Jimmy Johnson, 81, also has questions about his future.
He was noticeably absent from several broadcasts last season, that led to speculation and concerns for his health.
His status is yet to be determined.
While the future remains unclear for a host of characters and sports icons, answers will soon be provided in the months leading up to the 2025 season.
What we do know, is that the NFL on Fox is going to look quite different come kick off.
