However, he was a no-show for the Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol rematch.

Now an explanation appears to have emerged.

Ronaldo shared a picture of himself with Saudi Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman at the Saudi Cup, which is the world’s richest horse race.

He wrote in the caption: “Happy to celebrate Founding Day with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and honoured to attend the Saudi Cup horse race ceremony in Riyadh.”

The £16million race was won by Japan’s Forever Young, beating Romantic Warrior from Hong Kong.

Ronaldo seemed in good spirits following Al Nassr’s latest Saui Pro League title blow.

They were beaten 3-2 by Steven Gerrard’s former side Al Ettifaq.

It was a frustrating night for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner as he failed to get on the scoresheet and saw teammate Jhon Duran sent off in additional time.

Ronaldo was so enraged by the decision that he was seen booting the ball from the centre circle and off the pitch.

His protests would then continue on the sideline.

Al Nassr are now eight points adrift of league leaders Al Ittihad having played a game more.

As for the boxing card that Ronaldo missed, Bivol got revenge on Beterbiev to set up a mouthwatering trilogy fight.

He took the undisputed light heavyweight titles in the process.

Joseph Parker also created headlines when he knocked out Martin Bakole in the second round.
