Jason Kelce left brother Travis emotional as he opened up on his bittersweet Super Bowl LIX experience.
His former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, captured their second ever world championship in emphatic fashion, but it came at the expense of the Kansas City Chiefs and Travis, who lost one of the most important games of his career.

There was plenty of attention on the Kelce family in the build up to the Super Bowl – a repeat of the brothers going head to head two years ago in Super Bowl LVII – with many fans speculating on exactly who Jason would be rooting for.
Speaking on their New Heights podcast in the days following the game, the two brothers discussed their ‘weird’ experience on Sunday night.
“No matter who won or lost, I feel like I was going to be feeling s*** and feeling more with the team that lost,” Jason began, adding that watching the Super Bowl was ‘terrible’ for him.
He then suggested there was a misconception that he was rooting for his former team to win over his brother – which was not the case.
“On one hand, you played your entire life with an organization and team,” Jason continued.
“A lot of people in that building – coaches, friends, teammates that you’ve gone through adversity with – and it really makes you very, very close.
“And then on the other hand, you have your brother, and I’ve always supported you. I’ve always wanted you to win.
“I wanted you to win this game, and I thought I made that clear.”
Jumping into the conversation, Travis, who had already discussed a brutal experience in New Orleans, suggested that Jason had ‘made that clear’ to him personally.
The pair then appeared to become a little fired up as Jason detailed the tough position he was in, with loyalties to both his brother and the Eagles.

“It was weird man, it was hard to navigate, because I’m trying to say that I have people on the Eagles I love, and I also have you,” he said.
“I tried to make it known that I was rooting for you, and it felt like I couldn’t be right.
“Some people were gonna skew it and say that I’m rooting for the Eagles, and some people were gonna skew it and say that I was rooting for the Chiefs or Travis… and it sucks.”
Travis then praised Jason for the work he’s done with his former team over the years, and told his brother that he’s heard his support ‘loud and clear.’
He also reminded him that his support for the Eagles ‘doesn’t make you less of a brother.’
After regaining his composure, Jason wrapped up his message by saying that he was going to be both ‘happy and sad’ regardless of who won, while Travis said that his brother doesn’t ‘owe’ anything to those who criticised him around the Super Bowl.

“f*** ’em, you don’t owe any of these d***heads the acknowledgement,” he said.
“You really don’t, Jason. Everyone that knows you, knows your intentions. Anybody saying anything else is trying to get a rise.”
As well as discussing the game, which the Eagles won 40-22 against the Chiefs, Travis also responded to speculation about his retirement.
Some fans have been wondering if Super Bowl LIX was the 10-time Pro Bowler’s final NFL game.

He had just four catches for 39 yards in New Orleans, one of the lowest outputs of his impressive playoff career.
But with much to consider after the blowout loss, Travis admitted that he is yet to make a decision on his future.
“I’m kicking every can I can down the road. I’m not making any crazy decisions,” he said.
