‘Preparing for Jon Jones’ – Tom Aspinall visibly stunned by power of 400Ib World’s Strongest Man

EntertainmentSports‘Preparing for Jon Jones’ – Tom Aspinall visibly stunned by power of 400Ib World’s Strongest Man

Tom Aspinall couldn’t hide his reaction after feeling the full force of the World’s Strongest Man.

The interim UFC heavyweight champion spent some time with the three-time World’s Strongest Man Tom Stoltman in his gym in Manchester.

Aspinall has shared the octagon with some of the toughest men on the planet during his time in the UFC.

However, he wanted to go one step further by offering the official World’s Strongest Man the chance to kick him as hard has possible.

Stoltman is a whopping 6ft8in and weighs in at over 400 pounds (180kg), so it’s no surprise that his leg kick forced a reaction from the UFC star.

In fact, Aspinall even admitted in the immediate aftermath of the kick that his leg went dead for a few seconds.

Both men decided it was a good idea to kick each others legs as they went from 10 per cent power all the way to 100 per cent.

“Obviously I’m a relatively big guy in my own right, but there’s a bit of a size discrepancy,” Aspinall said before feeling the wrath of Stoltman.

The pair then traded leg kicks with 10 per cent power and Aspinall knew straight away what was to come as he noticed Stoltman’s ‘heavy legs’.

Next was 20 per cent and Stoltman got a little carried away with his next as Aspinall uttered: “I think that’s more than 20!”

“You can feel the difference in that eh?” Stoltman said when he felt the power of Aspinall at 40 per cent.

Aspinall then hit Stoltman with his hardest kick yet and the latter certainly felt it.

And you could certainly see in the face of Aspinall how powerful the 100% kick was

“Jeez, that’s 50 per cent? If that’s 50 per cent what would 100 per cent be?” he said, reacting to the kick.

Aspinall then offered Stoltman the opportunity to kick him with 100 per cent force as hard as he could.

Stoltman proceeded to deliver a thunderous strike to the hamstring of Aspinall, who limped briefly before giving his response.

“Oh yeah, it’s a good kick that,” he said. “Yeah I’ve got a dead leg there me.”

UFC fans were quick to react to the viral video of Aspinall and Stoltman’s devastating leg kicks.

One took to Instagram and said: “Preparing for Jon Jones’ leg kicks.”

While another added: “Ooh that’s a good leg kick that!”

Aspinall has lost just once in the UFC since signing for Dana White‘s promotion in 2020.

However, that loss came when he tore his MCL just 15 seconds into a fight with Curtis Blaydes back in July 2022 in London.

Aspinall secured interim heavyweight status by knocking out Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295 just over one year later, before exacting revenge against Blaydes at UFC Manchester in July.

The 31-year-old has finished all but one of his opponents in the first round, and has the shortest average fight time in the UFC, with two minutes and two seconds in the UFC.

The Wigan man has been patiently waiting to unify the heavyweight division by fighting MMA icon Jon Jones.

Both men are set to clash this summer in what would be one of the biggest UFC fights of all time, although nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
