    1.25: Not So Woolly 5/6 (2pts)
    2.25: The Doyen Chief 5/4 (1pt)
  • MARKET RASEN

Not So Woolly

Go West has to carry 7lb more than Not So Woolly due to winning by 12 lengths at Fakenham in a maiden race to Miss Cynthia.

That might have been a big victory and Go West is likely going to progress from that.

However, Miss Cynthia had plenty of mistakes over hurdles and that certainly contributed to the wider margin of success.

Not So Woolly has placed third respectably in the last three hurdle contests – going well behind Belliano last time out and It’s Hard To Know at Lingfield in November.

That suggests this gelding is right up there and could even be well-weighted, but definitely has the chance to make the most of Go West’s penalty.

The Doyen Chief

This Alan King-trained gelding has made two decent starts to chasing and has even been nudged down 1lb which makes him a great favourite for this race against some inexperienced chasers and debutants over fences.

He’s won at Taunton before – beating Classic King on his last hurdle race back in February of last year.

He’s upped in trip for the first time but given his consistency this could prove a winning formula.

I’m A Lumberjack

Belliano looked great at Ascot winning well ahead of Tommy The Tank.

The Paul Nicholls-trained gelding was an eye catcher moving up well on the straight and eventually asserted his dominance to secure victory.

It was a tired finish for all and the step back in trip is likely to be ideal.

I’m A Lumberjack was a big winner at Warwick in maiden company last time though and makes a great rival to Belliano.

He went on to win going away with plenty in hand which needs to be considered with both these horses still lightly raced and with progression on the cards.

Belliano is getting the money this morning to suggest it’s the right decision to go with him.

As The Fella Says was second behind I’m A Lumberjack and then was favourite for another maiden hurdle at Exeter, but was beaten by Saint Anapolino who had previously been in the places and was due a big run.

I think that form works out well though and given he won going away could be a surprise for some punters thinking Belliano will have this comfortably.

Court Cian

This horse was upped to 2m7f last month and as a result won by 16 lengths on his first time upped in trip.

He’d previously gone well over 2m4f and has clearly figured things out after starting hurdling back in September.

He’s been favourite in each of his last three outings and now upped 10lb back over 2m7f again is likely to show what he’s really capable of.
