Lights, camera…audio issues.
ESPN’s flagship program, College GameDay, got off to a rocky start in its’ pregame coverage of the Orange Bowl between Notre Dame and Penn State, experiencing audio issues right off the bat.
Former Alabama head coach, Nick Saban, began to talk and breakdown the game, the only issue was, no one could hear him.
His mic apparently seemed to be on mute as no sound came across the television when he began to speak.
Saban went over 12 seconds before host Rece Davis stepped in and informed the seven-time national champion that his mic was having issues.
“Hey just a second,” Davis interrupted.
“I’m told we don’t have your mic right now, don’t want to miss these points.
“Let’s see if we can get that straightened out and get Nick’s mic there.”
For a program as important to ESPN and its’ coverage, you would think, and hope, there wouldn’t be any technical issues.
However, it was quickly fixed shortly thereafter.
Saban is in his first year with the crew as he retired from coaching at the end of last season.
By all accounts, Saban has been a major positive addition to the show.
The usual prickly coach, has been able to let his personality shine in a different light in front of the camera.
He’s knowledgeable, charming and provides a certain ruggedness that makes Saban who he is.
Not to mention he is arguably the greatest college football coach of all time.
Of course people are going to listen when he speaks.
As long as his mic is working.
