Tom Brady is expected to have a huge say in who lands the Las Vegas Raiders head coach job.
Owner Mark Davis is not afraid to chop and change as he looks for results and Antonio Pierce was fired after going 4-13 in 2024.

NFL great Brady is a minority owner in the franchise and his experience will be leaned on to help Davis and general manager Tom Telesco in their search.
Insider Tom Pelissero revealed Wednesday that Brady has already spoken to Bill Belichick – his coach for six of seven Super Bowl triumphs – about what it would take to reunite in Sin City.
talkSPORT sat down with NFL Network’s Marc Ross, who interviewed for the Raiders GM job in 2018 but lost out to Mike Mayock.
He revealed exactly what Brady will be looking for in his first-ever head coaching hire – and strongly tipped another former New England Patriot.
“You know, with Tom Brady, here it is,” Ross began.
“You have an owner who’s shown, ‘Okay, I keep hiring and firing people.’ So that really is not the way to go.
“And now you bring in Tom Brady, who is wonderful, the GOAT as a player, but has never been in this position before.
“And it’s not the same to be on the outside looking in and then say, okay, now I’m owning the team and making input.
“So what do you rely on when you don’t really know? You just rely on what you know and he knows his Patriots guys. That’s what he knows.
“That’s really the input he’s going to give is, here are my Patriots dudes that I want to hire. I want to hire a [Mike] Vrabel. That to me is you just boil things down to the most common factor, ‘I know the Patriots guys.’
Vrabel has a stellar reputation and is in demand[/caption]
Belichick has been sounded out by Brady[/caption]
“Vrabel’s the guy which I think would be a great hire because I think he may be the best coach on the market, especially if you want a guy with experience. So that wouldn’t be a bad thing in and of itself.
“But I think Brady, I don’t think there’ll be this wide cast net. ‘I know all of these things and people and I think I’m gonna go with my dudes and give them a chance.’
“So I would expect, if he does have a lot of input, it would be a Patriots guy.”
Vrabel played for the Pats from 2001 to 2008 before moving into coaching.
He won Coach of the Year in 2021 after taking the Tennessee Titans to 12-5 and is one of the hottest names in this year’s cycle.
The three-time Super Bowl champion is also speaking to the Patriots, New York Jets, and Chicago Bears about their vacant roles.
Belichick recently stunned the football world by accepting a post at the University of North Carolina.
His contract reportedly includes a $10 million buyout if he leaves before to June 1.
The New Orleans Saints and Jacksonville Jaguars are also looking for a new head coach after a brutal ‘Blue Monday.’
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is also deciding whether to renew Mike McCarthy’s contract.
Brady’s Raiders are in desperate need of a franchise quarterback – another decision he may well expect a large say in.
There are not many elite prospects under center in the 2025 NFL Draft and Las Vegas holds the No. 6 pick.
