Masters chairman, Fred Ridley, announced the invites for Niemman, along with PGA golfer, Nicolai Hojgaard, as a concentrated effort to maintain golf’s global interest.

“In support of Augusta National’s efforts to develop interest in golf globally, deserving international players not otherwise qualified have been invited throughout the Tournament’s history,” Ridley said.

“The tradition continues as we welcome Nicolai and Joaquin back to the Masters, as both players have showcased their talent while competing around the world.

“We look forward to their arrival this April.”

This will be Niemman’s sixth consecutive Masters appearance.

The Chile born golfer has made the cut in each of the last four.

Last year, he tied for 22nd at 4 over, 15 strokes behind winner Scottie Scheffler.

Niemann was a two-time winner on the LIV Golf circuit last season, while also finishing ninth at the Paris Olympics.

He closed the 2024 season on a high, while finishing tied for seventh in the DP World Tour Championship and fifth at the Australian Open, before winning the Asian Tour’s PIF Saudi International.

He is currently No. 71 in the world ranking.

Niemman’s best finish at the Masters came in 2023, when he finished tied for 16th.

He will be looking to change his luck this time around, and is still in pursuit of his first major championship.

Niemman narrowly missed out on LIV’s Individual Championship, falling to Jon Rahm last September.

He was given another gift by Ridley this season to compete on the sport’s biggest stage, it’s now on him to see whether or not he can take advantage of the opportunity.
