The 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will signal the true start to the new golf season as the best in the game head to California for the prestigious event.

Wyndham Clark won this popular tournament last year, shooting a new course record at Pebble Beach before bad weather cut it short.

Rory McIlroy will be in action alongside several of the world’s top 20 players as the new PGA Tour season ramps up ahead of the upcoming Players Championship and Masters Tournament.

The Pebble Beach Pro-Am is also a unique event which sees golf’s top names paired with famous faces from outside the sport.

The amateurs will compete over the opening two days before the pros take centre-stage at the weekend to battle it out for the $20million prize pot.

Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2024: Format

Last year saw a tweak to the tournament’s format with Monterey Peninsula Country Club dropped as one of the host courses.

Now, two courses are used – Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course – with the amateurs playing Thursday and Friday and the weekend’s final two rounds played by professionals only.

This is because the event is now one of the PGA Tour’s lucrative Signature events.

The field will include 80 professionals and amateurs who will play in pairs.

Each pair will play a round at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill on Thursday and Friday before the weekend’s action is held at Pebble Beach only.

The winning pro will receive 700 FedExCup points and the top prize of $3.6million.

World No1 Scottie Scheffler still hopes to get his season up and running at Pebble Beach but is yet to confirm his participation.

Pebble Beach Pro-Am: What has been said?

Clark won a weather-affected event last year following his record-breaking 60 at Pebble Beach.

His stunning third round was enough to secure victory as storms cut the tournament to 54 holes.

The 2023 US Open champion said: “It was kind of surreal; it really felt like I won the tournament with that two-putt even though it was a Saturday.

“I think that was because I broke the course record. Everyone gave me a standing ovation. It honestly felt like the end of the tournament and that’s what made it so unique and weird because I would have thought that it was Sunday.

“So that’s what made it all very unique; it felt like I won the tournament yet I still had one more round.

“Coming down 16, 17, 18 at Pebble Beach it felt like a Sunday … The stands were full, the fans were there, the buzz was there, the feelings were there, the nerves were there.

“Walking as I come to the green, I got a standing ovation and everyone was giving me the respect for having such a great round.

“Then to almost shoot 59 but to shoot 60 and break the course record… when I shook hands and waved to the crowd, it really felt like I just done won the tournament, so I don’t feel like I got cheated at all.

“It was an amazing last 36 hours.”
