The games come thick and fast at this stage of the season and we have another set of Premier League games to look forward to.

We have previewed five of the six games taking place on Sunday, including matches involving Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

A £10 wager on our three-leg acca would pay out £49.98, while the same stake on our five-leg version offers a potential return of £262.40.

Leicester City vs Manchester City: Man City to win and over 2.5 goals (7/10)

After a 1-1 draw with Everton on Boxing Day, Manchester City have won only one of their last 13 games in all competitions.

Pep Guardiola’s team were much improved against Everton and, on the balance of play, they were unfortunate to drop two points. Yet City are still far from their best and they have a major fight on their hands to finish in the top four.

Thankfully, a trip to the King Power Stadium is not the toughest possible assignment they could have this weekend. Leicester are in the bottom three and they have not played well for a while.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has a massive job on his hands to keep the Foxes up. Despite Manchester City’s dismal form, they should have too much quality for their upcoming opponents.

We also favour goals given Leicester’s defensive frailties and Manchester City’s inability to keep clean sheets.

West Ham United vs Liverpool: Liverpool to win (2/5)

Liverpool suffered an early setback against Leicester on Boxing Day, but they came from behind to win 3-1 and take another step closer to the title.

Liverpool’s lead stands at seven points at the time of writing, although their advantage will fall to six points if Arsenal beat Ipswich Town on Friday night.

The Reds have easily been the standout performers in the division so far and it is hard to see them slipping up when they head to the London Stadium this weekend.

West Ham United have improved in recent weeks and they are now starting to look up at the top half rather than over their shoulders at the bottom three.

Nevertheless, Arne Slot’s side have the bit between their teeth right now. They know how to win in different ways and that will serve them well in the capital.

Crystal Palace vs Southampton: Under 2.5 goals (11/10)

Ivan Juric kick-started his Southampton tenure with a 1-0 loss to West Ham United on Boxing Day.

There were positives for the new manager to take from his team’s overall display, but the Saints have a mountain to climb. They are already nine points adrift of safety and have still won just one match in 2024/25.

Crystal Palace are also enduring a frustrating campaign. They ground out a 0-0 draw with Bournemouth last time out, but Palace were second best at the Vitality Stadium.

Just three points clear of the drop zone, Oliver Glasner’s men have won just three of their 18 encounters up to now. That is a poor return for a club that began the season with European ambitions.

Palace are better defensively than they are going forward, while Southampton have scored the fewest goals in the division. This is unlikely to be a classic.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Wolves: Wolves to score first (13/8)

Ange Postecoglou is under pressure as Tottenham Hotspur manager following a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.

That result has left Spurs in the bottom half of the table, with their top-four chances now hanging by a thread.

Djed Spence and Radu Dragusin have joined the list of defensive absentees for Sunday’s encounter. Tottenham are down to the bare bones at the back.

The north Londoners have an unhealthy habit of conceding the first goal at home. It is something they have done six times this term, second only to Leicester.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are resurgent under Vitor Pereira, who has overseen back-to-back wins in his first two games in charge.

Wolves can draw first blood this weekend to pile the pressure on Postecoglou.

Everton vs Nottingham Forest: Draw at half-time (Evens)

Everton have been at their resolute best over the last couple of weeks, holding Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City to draws in consecutive outings.

The Toffees have not offered a great deal going forward across those three games, but you have to commend their defensive organisation.

They face another strong side on Sunday, as Nottingham Forest head to Goodison Park for the final time.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are flying after a magnificent first half of the campaign, but they could be frustrated by Everton for at least part of this match.

The Toffees will sit deep and deny Forest the space in behind that they thrive upon. Do not be surprised if the score is level at the interval.
