Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson full undercard announced as third world title fight added to bill

OpenJake Paul vs Mike Tyson full undercard announced as third world title fight added to bill

The full undercard for the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson has been announced with the women’s WBO super middleweight world title fight added.

It’s just under a month until the hotly-anticipated Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions event at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which sees one of the greats of boxing in Tyson take on one of the most talked about fighters currently in the game in Paul.

The fight, which will be broadcast live on Netflix, is just over four weeks away

The co-main event sees Katie Taylor rematch Amanda Serrano to become undisputed lightweight women’s champion, while Mario Barrios defends his WBC welterweight title against Abel Ramos.

And another world title fight has been added to the card with the vacant WBO super middleweight crown up for grabs.

This will see no.1 contender Shadasia Green take on no.2 contender Melinda Watpool in a ten-round showdown.

Another two fights have been added to the bill with top-ranked IBF and WBA contender Lucas Bahdi face off with American Corey Marksman in a ten-round lightweight contest. Both fighters are undefeated in their professional careers thus far.

Also on the preliminary card is an eight-round featherweight fight between Bruce “Carrington Jr and Australian fighter Dana Coolwell.

Paul vs Tyson was supposed to happen on July 20, however, it was postponed due to the latter suffering an ulcer flare up.

There’s been huge amounts of controversy over the fight given the age gap between Paul, 27, and Tyson, 58 with many in boxing, including Eddie Hearn saying it shouldn’t go ahead.

But it’s been rearranged for November 15 and the rivals have been verbally sparring with each other ahead of their dust-up in the ring.

In recent training footage that showed Paul flooring a sparring partner, the YouTuber can be heard addressing Tyson in a chilling message.

However, Paul’s girlfriend, speedskater Jutta Leerdam is very aware of the threat ‘Iron Mike’ faces.

“The progression Jake has made is not normal,” she said.

The third world title bout sees Green and Watpool compete for the women’s WBO super middleweight title

“Other athletes, they make a few percentage points of progression a year, if at all. Jake makes so much in a year. So I do trust his skills. I’m very proud of him.

“But of course, Mike Tyson could give one punch that is harder than Mike has ever thrown — and it will be lights out for Jake.”

Meanwhile, Larry Holmes, who suffered a KO defeat to Tyson in 1988, hinted that Paul may not get out of the ring alive.

“I watched a clip of Mike Tyson this morning and all I can say is Jake better be ready if he’s going to fight Mike,” Holmes said.

“Mike will be able to last the two minute rounds. Mike comes to fight when he puts his mind to it, he goes to work on you.

“And that’s what I’ve seen today. And if this guy tries to trade punches with Mike, he loses.

“Mike is a puncher. I fought Mike and he hit me and that was the end of it. Earnie Shavers was one of the hardest punchers there’s ever been and Mike is right up there with him at the top.

Not everyone will agree with the fight but many eyeballs will be on Tyson vs Paul on November 15Michelle Farsi/Most Valuable Promotions

“Earnie Shavers was the hardest I’ve ever faced but when Tyson hits, he tries to kill you. And Mike can take a good punch, I hit him a couple of times and he kept on coming.

“Jake will hit him, but Mike is going to keep on coming. He better be ready for Mike to keep coming forward with punches.”
