Obafest is designed to encourage responsible alcohol consumption while fostering sustainable practices. Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), through its flagship beer, Bell Lager, has partnered with Coca-Cola as the hydration partner and Safe Boda as the transportation partner for this edition.

This initiative aligns with UBL’s 10-year sustainability action plan, Society 2030: “Spirit of Progress,” which aims to advance the UN’s 13 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by integrating responsible business practices, including promoting inclusion, diversity, and responsible drinking.

Lillian Kansiime, Bell Lager Brand Manager at UBL, emphasized the importance of addressing overconsumption and promoting moderation. “As a business, Uganda Breweries is committed to promoting sustainable practices in the communities we serve. At this year’s festival, we will focus on responsible drinking, with the support of our partners, Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda and Safe Boda,” she said during the press briefing.

The event is expected to attract over 20,000 attendees, featuring activities centered around beer, food, and social impact. Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda, represented by Acting Channel & Trade Marketing Manager Fiona Kemigisha, contributed UGX 10 million and 100 cartons of water to support the festival. Kemigisha highlighted that Coca-Cola is committed to encouraging informed choices and balanced lifestyles, reinforcing their role as the official hydration partner.

Safe Boda will offer discounted rides to ensure safe and secure transportation for attendees. “Safety remains a priority, and through this partnership, we will provide discounted safe rides for all revelers,” said Calvin Mukooli from Safe Boda.

Additionally, the festival will continue its collaboration with Asante Waste Management to ensure proper waste management during the three-day event, reinforcing its dedication to sustainability.
